Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a small village and a popular backwater tourist destination located near the city of Kottayam in Kerala state. It is the cluster of small islands on the Vembanad Lake which is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the state of Kerala.
Vembanad Lake, the largest backwater in Kerala, It is an enchanting backwater destination rich in flora and fauna, the lake is habitat for many a species of marine and freshwater fishes. The other major tourist attraction is the Bird Sanctuary which can be visited by canoes, the noted bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of the wide variety of migratory birds.
The fascinating place attracts over thousands of tourists every year from all over the world, along with moderate climate throughout the year the tourists are provided with leisure options such as boating, yachting, and fishing, with panoramic views of the lake.
