Orchha

Orchha is a famous tourist place in Tikamghar District of Madhya Pradesh state. It was founded in the 15th century by the Bundela Rajput Chief, Rudra Pratap Singh, who also built the Fort of Orchha.
Orchha Fort, surrounded by a battlement wall is situated at the bank of River Betwa. The fort consists of several connected buildings built by different rulers. Most renowned are Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal.
Orchha has numerous ancient temples and cenotaphs or chhatris representing royal glory and architectural skills of craftsmen of different times.
